Silke Mehler is a creator, dancer, and teacher of dance and yoga. Born in Germany in 1981, she began her artistic education in church music before studying contemporary dance and ballet at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. She completed her Bachelor of Dance in 2006 at the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK).
In the Netherlands, she continued her training at the Henny Jurriens Foundation, working with international teachers and collaborating with companies such as Scapino Ballet and Kristina de Châtel. In 2011 she founded Second Attention Dance Company, performing across the Netherlands and touring in Estonia and Spain.
In 2013 she developed projects in Australia, collaborating with Australasian Theatre in Cairns and independent artists in Adelaide and Melbourne. Since 2016 she has been based in Spain, collaborating with Otra Danza and various schools in Alicante.
Her current focus is on developing research-based creative projects within the Alicante cultural context while maintaining an international artistic network.
